Colin has been a biologist with Alabama Power Company since 2024. His duties include working with threatened and endangered species, and other fish and wildlife across the state. He completed his B.S. at Auburn University in 2008 and earned a M.S. from Mississippi State in 2018. Colin’s work with threatened and endangered species has included American eel abundance and passage studies, rush darter and trispot darter monitoring, flattened musk turtle tracking, Black Warrior waterdog surveys and eDNA sampling, red-cockaded woodpecker habitat maintenance and population studies, white fringeless orchid surveys, Indiana and northern long-eared bat habitat surveys, and gopher tortoise line transect distance sampling. Colin works with collaborative partnerships in the state including the Alabama Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, the Alabama River and Streams Network, and the Darter Junior Board. Colin lives in Helena, AL with his wife. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, fishing, hunting, and reading.
